Katarzyna Kowalik

Katarzyna Kowalik: Harpsichord, Fortepiano

Katarzyna Kowalik is a London-based pianist and harpsichordist performing actively as a soloist and with many chamber ensembles and orchestras. Currently she is holding an artistic residency at the Handel House in London as part of the Handel House Talent scheme.

Katarzyna completed her Master Degree in Historical Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London (MPerf 2012) with Carole Cerasi, James Johnstone and Nicholas Parle, obtaining The City of London Corporation Award (2011) and Guildhall School Trust Award (2010). She was also awarded a prestigious Guildhall Artist Fellowship twice (2012, 2013).

Katarzyna also graduated from the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw studying piano with Alicja Paleta Bugaj and harpsichord with Wladyslaw Klosiewicz.

Moreover Katarzyna mastered her skills in the Piccola Accademia in Montisi studying with Christophe Rousset as well as in the Académie Musicale Villecroze with Ilton Wjuniski. She also participated in the Academy of Ancient Music AAMplify side-by-side workshops.

Katarzyna performed extensively as a soloist, accompanist, continuo player or director in Poland and United Kingdom as well as in Germany, France, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Italy. She played with many groups and orchestras such as La Serenissima, Fiori Musicali, BBrandenburg Baroque Soloists, Music for Awhile, The Amadè Players, Literary Music. Katarzyna is also a director of the Royal Baroque ensemble.

Last year performances include concerts in the Royal Albert Hall, Foundling Museum, St Martin in the Fields, Barbican Centre, Spitalfields, Hatchlands Park, Handel House and at the London Handel Festival.
