Costume by Beth Lomas

Beth Lomas: Costumier

Beth Lomas graduated from Yorkshire Coast College in 2012 with a first class degree in Costume. She was awarded both the Jane Law Prize for Excellence in Cut and Construction and the Janet Kent Award for Research and Dissertation for her final year project, which included Elizabethan costumes for Britten's Gloriana.

Her passion for historical costume and construction has led to her collaboration with Literary Music, as well as working with other opera companies. She has worked with Welsh National Opera as assistant costume maker and has also done work experience at the Royal Northern College of Music, assisting on Carman and at Buxton Festival, assisting with construction and alteration work on Maria di Rohan, Saul and Mignon in June and July 2011.

Among Beth's commissions are Literary Music's Regency costumes and a 4.5 x 7.5m patchwork screen, created for Tarka the Otter, Buxton Festival, 2011.
